Quicken Mac Dates - convert qif solution
Bloody hell. Changed banks and I couldn't import qif from my new bank into quicken like I could with my old bank. Opened qif from both banks in text editor. The one that worked had dates in a US format and the one that didn't had pommie dates.
I've spent three nights googling and mucking about.
Solution found - I downloaded a programme called checkbook. Imported QIF file from new bank. Exported it. Opened file in text edit and compared it to file that worked. Besides dates the first few lines differed too. I deleted these and hey presto it worked.
It was a bit more complex than this. Quicken for mac has a Canadian and US setting choice. My computer has various date settings of course. Checkbook has different date settings for importing and exporting.
What works for me is to import qif file in checkbook via dd/mm/yy option and export using mm/dd/yy setting with quicken set to canada and dates on computer set to nz.
It worked - phew!
