Stroke - Cochrane - statins

There is no evidence of benefit or harm from reducing serum cholesterol levels in patients with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack.

....... However, ischaemic stroke patients who have a history of myocardial ischaemia should receive statin therapy along the lines recommended for patients with established coronary heart disease.
